Le Seuil de l'Apparence
Two figures stand face-to-face, locked in a silent exchange. Their eyes meet and their lips part as a thin wisp of smoke drifts between them, materializing the fragile bond of their conversation. On the surface, we see two men engaging in a shared moment, recognizing one another through the familiar codes of social interaction.
However, the cubist aesthetic reveals a more complex truth. Behind this facade of connection lies the profound mystery inherent to every human being. The geometric lines and fractured planes of their faces symbolize the hidden facets of identity—those parts of ourselves that remain unreachable to others. Their heavy garments and striking adornments act as armor, shielding their secrets, doubts, and inner worlds.
"The Veil of Presence" is a visual meditation on a fundamental duality: we are simultaneously the mask we offer to the world and the private universe we keep within. This piece serves as a reminder that we are often perceived only as what we choose to reveal.
